Decidí automatizar un asistente de lectura que me ayudara a separar la señal del ruido (sí, de ahí viene el nombre). Quería construir algo que conociera mi contexto y mostrara lo que realmente me interesa.

Cómo lo construí

Claude Code es la herramienta indicada para este tipo de proyecto. Corre en tu terminal o en la app de Claude, lee tus archivos, escribe y corrige código en contexto, y explica lo que está haciendo en cada paso. Para alguien que construye solo y sin ser desarrollador, no hay mucho más que evaluar.

No arranqué con mucha claridad. Abrí un proyecto en Claude y le di las instrucciones de la imagen de arriba. Como se ve, no fue un prompt ni una instrucción elaborada: simplemente visualicé un agente que leyera fuentes y me entregara un resumen. Después le agregué la capacidad de investigar temas puntuales si así lo deseaba en ese momento. Seamos honestos, no he leído todo el contenido de las personas que sigo.

Al final me hicieron sentido dos modos:

• Modo Digest: trae los últimos siete días de las fuentes que sigo y resume cada una.

• Modo Research: el usuario da un tema, el agente busca y sintetiza un briefing.

El punto de partida fue un solo prompt en el chat dentro del proyecto:

“Sos un experto en Claude Code y un investigador ejecutivo de negocios enfocado en crecimiento de ingresos para industrias tecnológicas. Pensás como WSJ combinado con McKinsey — data driven, estratégico, nada de relleno. Ayudame a construir un agente de IA que escriba mi newsletter personal.”

Con eso alcanzó para arrancar. Claude armó el plan del proyecto, creó la estructura de archivos y empezó a construir. El rumbo se fue aclarando sobre la marcha.

Antes de tocar Claude Code, Claude Chat me hizo una serie de preguntas para afinar el concepto: cuál es el foco, quién es el lector, cómo debería obtener el contenido, qué secciones, qué tono. Esa conversación convirtió una idea vaga en un brief concreto.

A partir de ahí, Claude Chat me fue dando los prompts para correr en Claude Code — uno por uno, en orden. Primero: crear un PLANNING.md que describiera al agente. Ese archivo se convirtió en el ancla del proyecto. Claude Code lo lee automáticamente y lo usa para mantener consistencia en cada paso.

Cada prompt se construyó sobre el anterior, yo solo pasé instrucciones. Y esa es la belleza de la IA: puede ser tu desarrollador personal sin mucho esfuerzo.

En resumen, le indiqué a Claude Code que hiciera cinco cosas:

1. Crear un documento de planificación que anclara cada decisión

2. Armar el plan completo del proyecto

3. Escribir un system prompt que filtrara todo bajo una perspectiva de negocios

4. Construir los dos modos, digest y research

5. Arreglar un par de bugs de HTML que aparecieron en la primera corrida de prueba

El resultado

El agente tiene dos modos. Modo Research que toma un tema, corre búsquedas en vivo vía Brave Search, suma el contenido que sigo, y produce un briefing estructurado: resumen ejecutivo primero, después detalle por sección, con fuentes linkeadas en todo el documento. Modo Digest no necesita input: trae los últimos siete días de las fuentes curadas y resume cada una con una perspectiva personalizada.

El output es un archivo HTML limpio. Se abre en cualquier navegador. Un solo comando desde Claude Code.

Cómo replicar esto

Necesitás tres cosas: Node.js, Claude Code, y una API key de Anthropic. Brave Search tiene un plan gratuito — 2.000 búsquedas por mes — suficiente para uso personal.

Arrancá con un chat de Claude, no con Claude Code. Describí lo que querés construir y dejá que te haga preguntas. Esa conversación se convierte en tu brief. Una vez que sabés qué querés, abrí Claude Code y dale ese brief como primer prompt.

De ahí en más, dejá que Claude Code construya. Tu trabajo es dirigir: decirle qué crear, probar el output, y describir qué hay que arreglar. No necesitás escribir código. Advertencia: asegurate de pedirle a Claude Code que deje tus API keys de forma segura en un archivo .env, sobre todo si lo subís a GitHub.

Las dos cosas que más importan: escribir un documento de planificación antes de cualquier línea de código, y ser específico en tu system prompt sobre la perspectiva que querés aplicar a todo. Instrucciones genéricas producen output genérico.

I decided to automate a reading assistant that helped me separate the signal from the noise (yep that’s where the name came from). I wanted to build something that knew my context and surfaces what I am actually interested in.

How I built it

Claude Code is the right tool for this kind of project. It runs in your terminal or Claude App, reads your files, writes and fixes code in context, and explains what it’s doing at each step. For a solo builder without a dev background, that combination matters.

I didn’t start with a clear spec. I opened a Claude project first and provided the instructions in the image above. As you can see, it was not a big prompt or instruction: I just said that I wanted the agent to read my sources and deliver a summary. Afterwards, I added the capability to research specific topics on demand. Let’s be honest, I haven’t read everything in the back catalog either.

Two modes ended up making sense:

• Digest mode: pulls the last seven days from the sources I follow and summarizes each one.

• Research mode: user provides a topic, it searches and synthesizes a briefing.

The starting point was a single prompt in the chat within the project:

"You are an expert in Claude Code and a business executive journalist focused on revenue growth for technology industries. You think like WSJ meets McKinsey — data driven, strategic, zero fluff. Help me build an AI agent that writes my personal newsletter."

That was enough to get moving. Claude scaffolded the project, created the file structure, and started building. The direction got clearer as it went.

Before touching Claude Code, Claude Chat asked me a series of questions to sharpen the concept: what’s the focus, who’s the reader, how should it source content, what sections, what tone. That conversation turned a vague idea into a concrete brief.

From there, Claude Chat gave me the prompts to run in Claude Code — one at a time, in order. First: create a PLANNING.md describing the agent. That file became the project’s anchor. Claude Code reads it automatically and uses it to stay consistent across every step.

Each prompt built on the previous one, I was directing. And that is the beauty of AI: it can be your personal developer without much effort.

In summary, I instructed Claude Code to do five things:

1. Create a planning document to anchor every decision

2. Scaffold the full project structure

3. Write a system prompt filtering everything through revenue lens,

4. Build the two modes, digest and research

5. Fix a couple of HTML bugs that showed up during the first test run

The result

The agent has two modes. Research mode takes a topic, runs live searches via Brave Search, plus the content I follow, and produces a structured briefing: executive summary first, then detail by section, sources linked throughout. Digest mode needs no input: it pulls the last seven days from the curated sources and summarizes each one with a personalized lens.

How to replicate this

You need three things: Node.js, Claude Code, and an Anthropic API key. Brave Search has a free tier — 2,000 searches per month — enough for personal use.

Start with a Claude chat, not Claude Code. Describe what you want to build and let it ask you questions. That conversation becomes your brief. Once you know what you want, open Claude Code and give it that brief as the first prompt.

From there, let Claude Code build. Your job is to direct: tell it what to create, test the output, and describe what needs fixing. You don’t need to write code. Warning: make sure you ask Claude Code to securely leave your API keys in .env file, mostly if you push it to github.

The two things that matter most: write a planning document before any code, and be specific in your system prompt about the lens you want applied to everything. Generic instructions produce generic output.
